Ellen G.

February 16, 1920 – June 30, 2017

Ellen was born in Swanson, Saskatchewan on February 16, 1920. She was the youngest of six children born to Harriet and Alfred Clark. Her sisters and brothers were all born in England. After the war she met Ernie Fridulin in Vancouver and they were married on September 21, 1945 in Tessier, Saskatchewan. They opened a butcher shop in Byemoor, Alberta which they operated until the early 1950’s. They then purchased a farm near Rumsey, Alberta where they remained until retirement in 1972. A home was purchased in Sylvan Lake, Alberta and they enjoyed the companionship of their many neighbours. After Ernie’s passing in 1980, Ellen remained in the house for almost 20 more years. When an opening became available, she moved to the Sylvan Lake Senior’s Lodge where she happily lived until 2012. As her health started to fade she moved to Extendicare Michener Hill in Red Deer where she resided until her passing on June 30, 2017. Ellen was predeceased by her son Terry in 1971 and is survived by her son Randy (Jennie) granddaughter Karen and grandson Steve all of Mississauga, Ontario as well as grandson Rick (Sara) and great granddaughters Laura and Erin of Caledonia, Ontario. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews throughout Western Canada. Special thanks to Gwen and Doug Jamieson of Calgary, Alberta for all their assistance in her care and to the staff at Extendicare for their excellent service. Sylvan Lake and Rocky Funeral Homes and Crematorium, your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, entrusted with the arrangements. 403-887-2151.
