BERGMAN, FRANCES CORDINER

December 12, 1934 – October 19, 2016

Heaven opened its arms to embrace a beautiful blue-eyed angel. God put His loving hands upon Frances Cordiner Bergman and took her home to be with Him on October 19, 2016. Fran was the youngest of three children born on December 12th, 1934, and raised in what she affectionately referred to as “her beautiful valley.” She had a good life. A busy, but good life. You could often see her puttering around in her little garden, bringing beauty and colour to her home with calla lilies, ivy, roses and other plants. She proudly knit sweaters, toques and scarves for her family and cute little dolls at Christmas time for children overseas. She was also fond of crafting, sewing, singing and music. For 39 wonderful years Frances was married to her devoted husband, Peter Bergman. Soon after, they welcomed two beautiful children, Cal and Bobbie, to complete their little family. In 1953, Fran took her LPN training in Calgary. She worked at the General Hospital before moving and working in B.C., and ending up back in Drumheller to work at the nursing home, where she met many people and made many friends. Those who had the pleasure of meeting Fran, know what a loving, compassionate person she was. She was a hard working LPN for 42 years, and her kindness was apparent every day, as she took care of those who needed a loving hand and a warm smile. Fran was predeceased by her husband, Peter Bergman, son, Calvin Bergman, father, Frederick Campbell Freeman, mother, Williamina Freeman, and brother, Eddie Freeman. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Marion Pollom, daughter, Bobbie (Wayne) Mohl, grandchildren, Amber Mohl (Brad), Adam Mohl, and Chelsi Petersen. And while she loved her family dearly, the true apples of her eye were her great grandchildren, Holly and Hunter Petersen, who knew and loved her as their G.G. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis, Trent and Tyler Bergman as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. A Celebration of Life for Frances will be planned for spring 2017. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Drumheller & District Humane Society. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
