BARNES, Helma “Evone”

It is with such great sadness we announce the loss of our Mother, Grams, GG and dear friend to many, Helma “Evone” Barnes who passed away suddenly on August 12, 2016, at the age of 84. Evone was a Registered Nurse by trade but gave up nursing when she married Al and moved onto the Barnes Homestead in Carbon. She soon became devoted to the farm life and raising her boys. At one time Evone was a darn good curler and ball player, she also made the best Apple pies amongst other favorites! Later on in her life she was very passionate about watching Curling, and other sports but she especially enjoyed playing crib, attending bingo with her bingo friends and watching her grandchildren’s ball games. She was predeceased by her husband Al Barnes and her parents Ed and Agnes Foster and only sibling, her brother Jim Foster. She leaves behind her two sons Bill (Cheryl) and Bob (Florence Johnson), her grandchildren Jeremiah (Dennel) Barnes, Amy (Jammie) O’Brien, Heidi, Emily, & Maia Barnes and Jason Johnson. Also 5 Great Grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Chloe, Maddox, Deken, Ripley and Jerden. Evone was full of fun and spunk and words cannot express how dearly she will be missed by her family. At Evone’s request, there will be no service. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
