DINGMAN, Georgina Irene “Gena”
October 2, 1923 - July 7, 2016
Georgina “Gena” Dingman passed away July 7, 2016 at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her children, Bob (Joan) Dingman, Susy Evans, Bonny (Bob) Mieske, Diane Peterson, and David (Yvonne) Dingman, as well as 11 very special grandchildren and 13 precious great-grandchildren. As an only child, her family members were the most important people in her life. At every family gathering the cards came out; the teacher in her had even the youngest granchild counting cribbage hands. Gena taught school at Sacred Heart until her retirement. Gena played Bridge every chance she got and she will be missed by her special friends who played every Friday morning, as well as her other Bridge group. The last five plus years she enjoyed her friends and staff at Peace Hills Lodge; we would like to thank them for their care. Gena was predeceased by her husband Robert “Bob”, and her parents, Albian and Anna Sandberg. Thank you to the staff of Unit 35, and Dr. de Wet for the wonderful care and compassion she received at the end of her life. A Celebration of Life is being planned at a later date. Mom was a big supporter of the Salvation Army and memorial donations would help them with the work they do (www.salvationarmy.ca).
