Edith passed away Saturday May 14, 2016 in Hanna at the age of 96.   She is survived by her daughters Donna (Mike Price) and Nita Louden, 4 sisters Kay Robertson, Lorraine Cooney, Josie Roline and Elsie Limpert as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her
Husband Stan (1991) and Sister in law Stella
Diegel (1998), Brothers: Mike (Maude), Carl (Florence), Art (Mary Ruth) Sisters: Anne (Tom), Mary (Ivan), Irene (George), Violet and Jean, Brothers in Law: Mel Robertson, Ron Roline, Ken Cooney and Duane Limpert. Edith was born February 19, 1920 on the Handhills farm, she attended Georgestown School, travelling by horse, Delia School and St. Mary’s,Calgary. Edith spent the better part of 94 years in Delia, living in her home for over 50 years tending her garden and rose bushes before she moved into the Hanna Long Term Care supportive living in August 2014. Mom was a member of the CWL, Ladies Auxiliary and Delia Senior Centre, she babysat many of her nieces and nephews, sold Avon, drove school bus and became a Movie Star in 2001, she loved to have coffee and poached eggs and bacon at Luke’s. At Delia’s 100 Birthday Parade she rode on the Senior’s Train and later that morning rode Ron’s new 3 wheel motorcycle all at the ripe age of 94. We are going to miss you Mom. Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Georges Catholic Church, Hanna, Alberta. Funeral Mass Thursday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. St. George’s Catholic Church with interment to follow in the Delia Cemetery. Luncheon in the Delia Community Hall following the interment In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delia Senior’s Centre or Hanna Long Term Care Recreation Dept. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
