CUNCANNON, John Burke (Jack)

Jack passed away peacefully Sunday March 6, 2016 in Drumheller at the age of 80 years. Jack was born in Drumheller, Alberta on September 21, 1935, the youngest child of Stanley and Beatrice Cuncannon. Jack married Lynley (Harper) July 16, 1966. Jack was well known for his piano playing plus orchestra and piano tuning. His lifelong passion was restoring tractors especially his W40 International. Jack was raised at the homestead on the Sunbeam Road, and remained on the family farm until his retirement. He was a proud member at the Pioneer Acres for over 40 years, and a lifelong member of the Sunbeam Community. Jack was a well known walking historian in Morrin and surrounding areas and he had a knack for recalling events to the day of the week and if the weather was sunny, raining, or a snow blizzard when the event or birth occurred. He enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren and friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Beatrice Cuncannon; brothers, Vern and Bob Cuncannon; brother-in-law, Colin Churchill. Jack is survived by his wife, Lynley; sister, Grace Churchill; sons, Laurence (Wendy), Patrick (Frankie); granddaughters, Melissa, Megan, Madeline Cuncannon, Sydney Vickers; great grandchildren, Adele and Korah. Funeral Services for Jack will be held on Friday March 11, 2016 from ST. ANTHONY’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH at 2:00 P.M. with Father Fernando Genogaling as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Memory of Jack to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
