BERRY, Dale Brian
August 4, 1946 - July 28, 2015
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Dale Berry announces his passing at the age of 68 years. Dale passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family after a sudden brief illness. Dale was born in Lacombe, Alberta and was raised on the nearby family farm. He moved to Drumheller with his young family in 1971, and began employment at the Drumheller Institution. He worked as a correctional officer for 26 years before retiring in 1996. Dale then enjoyed many different lines of employment over the remaining years. His greatest joy was his family and friends. Dale loved the simple things in life and was always a farmer at heart, and his passions, besides his family, were that of Ford pickup trucks and John Deere tractors. Dale is predeceased by his father Roderick, his mother Iva, step-mother Audrey, and two infant brothers. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Judy of 47 years, daughter Milia (Jamie) Durant, their sons Malan and Thane, son Brian (Sheryl), their children Jessie (Ajit), Jeremy, Jayla and Shania, son David and his children Austin and Raena, sister Hannah (Clifford) Hunt of Grande Prairie, Alberta, brother Bill of Lacombe, Alberta, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. from Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes in Drumheller with Pastor Dan Dannhauer presiding. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or Red Deer Regional Health Foundation (I.C.U.). Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
