Helen Otto died peacefully on June 8, 2015 in long term care at the Lamont Health Care Centre where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was surrounded by family at the time of her death at the age of 91. In recent years dementia had influenced her ability to fully participate in life but her humour and generous spirit was with her until the end. Helen was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1982. She leaves behind three children: Mark (Sharon) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; Patrick (Jennifer) of Fergus, Ontario and Dawn Wrightson (Brian) of West Kelowna, BC. She was a loving grandmother to Jessica and Kevin Wrightson, Cameron, Martin, Arlin and Christian Otto and Stephanie Hirtle (Chris). She also leaves good friends and other family to happily remember and celebrate her life. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on July 2, 2015 at the Lamont United Church, 5102-53 Street, Lamont, Alberta. She always did.
