Jane Smith unexpectedly passed away on January 31, 2015. She is survived by her husband Michael and sons Connor and Derek; her parents Robert and Sharen Bennewies of Calgary; her sister Jill James (Michael) of Brisbane, Australia; sisters-in-law Laurie (Michael) Remigi of Calgary, Michelle (Gerald) Whipf of Calgary, Lesley (Steven) Boyko of Drumheller; father and mother-in-law Gordon and Margie Smith of Drumheller; nieces and nephews Elliott and Adam James, Taylor and Brett Remigi, Karsten and Chase Smith, Bailey, Allison, Cari and Tyler Boyko; uncles and aunts Doug (Sheila) Benneweis, Don (Rita) Benneweis, Lyle (Colleen Sampson, Dennis Sampson, Ken (Colleen) Sampson, Sharon Sampson; cousins Russell (Alison) Benneweis, Greg (Lisa) Benneweis, Aaron (Deidre) Benneweis, Terra (Chris) MacEwan, Trina Sampson, Tim (Linda) Sampson, Tiffany Sampson, Eric (Marian) Sampson. Jane was born on July 2, 1969 in Ottawa, Ontario. She took her elementary education in Kars, Ontario and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She completed her education degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1992 and her Masters of Education at the University of Calgary in 2012. She taught at Greentree Elementary School for the past 22 years. A celebration of Jane’s life will be held Friday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Badlands Community Facility. Private family interment to follow in the Drumheller Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be held immediately following the celebration of life service at the facility. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 400-105 12th Avenue South East, Calgary, AB, T2G 1A1, cmha.calgary.ab.ca. Courtney-Winters have been entrusted  with the arrangements.
