Two individuals, both residents of Sylvan Lake, are facing charges after Three Hills RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
On Wednesday, July 19 at 11:45 p.m., Three Hills RCMP were dispatched to a suspicious truck and ATV which were parked in Delburne.
The investigation revealed the truck, a Ford F550, and the Yamaha ATV, were both reported stolen out of Consort. A male and female were placed under arrest and taken into custody. The female was found in possession of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine.
Upon further investigation, police subsequently located identifications, a large quantity of vehicle keys, oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia, and what is suspected to be a homemade firearm in the stolen truck.
Jacob Vincent, 26, a resident of Sylvan Lake, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and five counts of fail to comply with release order.
Following a Judicial Interim Hearing, Vincent was remanded into custody and appeared at Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on Friday, July 21.
Charges are pending for a female resident of Sylvan Lake. As an information has not been sworn before the court, therefore, the name of the individual cannot be released at this time.

It appears another Carbon Village Councillor has decided to retire.
According to the minutes of the July 11 Carbon Special Council meeting posted on social media, Councillor Trina Anderson moved to accept the resignation of Councillor Renee O’Brien.
O’Brien was acclaimed in a by-election in July of 2018. In the 2021 election, she won her seat in a field of eight candidates. She had the second-highest number of votes with 132.
The Mail reached out to O’Brien for comment but has not heard back as of press time.
O’Brien is the second councillor to resign in the last two months. Councillor Brian McHugh tendered his resignation in June, citing complications in his personal life.
Both resignations come under the spectre of a resident-led petition to recall Mayor Bryan Peever and Councillor Trina Anderson. The petition enabled by provincial legislation fell short of the required number of signatures for recall.
A by-election has been slated for September 21.
