Tenders close for new Catholic school

The period for submitting tenders for St. Anthony’s School in Drumheller has ended, and the school division is hopeful they will be making the announcement for a contractor in December.
    According to Christ The Redeemer School Division superintendent, Michael O’Brien, the tendering process wrapped up last week, and now the board has submissions to mull over. 
 

CN train to disappear

train.jpg “I didn’t like the call, but I knew it was coming,” said Mayor Bryce Nimmo Monday afternoon after talking to  Canadian National (CN) about the fate of the rail line through Drumheller. “At the same time, there is not much you can do about it.”
    On November 17 Mayor Nimmo was informed by a CN spokesperson the rail line from Lyalta to Oyen, running through Drumheller, was put on the discontinuance list.



Local girls donate angel hair

hair-girls.jpghair-girls-after.jpgIt took about four generous snips, and two local girls changed their look, and possibly the look of young cancer patients they have never seen or met.
    Averie, 6, daughter of Sandra Graham and Mark Meuchel, and Mackenna, 6, daughter of Sharon and Kurt Walker had hair most women of any age would die for. When they decided to lose the locks, a suggestion was made to perhaps give their hair to those who need it most, and they went for it.
