Drumheller recognizes war time sacrifices

remembrance.jpgDrumheller residents came out in force to recognize those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of all Canadians. Drumheller Remembrance Day ceremonies were held Tuesday, in the DCHS/ Central School gymnasium. The service was followed by a march back to the Royal Canadian Legion, Drumheller Branch.  Veteran Pat Sparrow lays a wreath at the foot of the cenotaph as members of the First Drumheller Scouts, Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Furious, and Air Force Cadets stand guard.  Mayor Bryce Nimmo was invited as guest speaker, Drumheller Institution Warden Mike Hanly brought greetings from the federal government, and Stan Schumacher brought greetings from the provincial government.
