Motorcycle vs. truck collision Sunday

At 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10 a red pick-up truck collided with a motorcycle  at the 3rd Ave. E and Highway 9 intersections near Drumheller’s downtown. The female driver of the bike  sustained injury before a crowd of motorists and pedestrians stopped traffic and assisted the victim. Badlands EMS, Drumheller Fire Department and Drumheller RCMP attended the scene.

Pickup truck and ATV fatal collision

On Saturday, October 9th, 2010, at around 1910 hrs, Drumheller Fire Department, EMS, and RCMP responded to a 911 report of a collision between a pickup truck and an ATV.  It occurred on Range Road 29-2 near the community of Dunphy, just southwest of the Town of Drumheller.  A pickup truck was moving eastbound on the gravel road.  As it crested a hill, it collided head on with a westbound 4 wheeled All Terrain Vehicle.  Both the male driver and the female passenger of the pickup truck were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.  The male driver of the ATV died upon impact.  The female passenger of the ATV suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to Calgary via STARS Air Ambulance.  Both occupants of the ATV were wearing helmets.  Police are continuing their investigation and are unable to release names or further details at this time.
