Slash visits Tyrrell

One of the world’s most famous guitarists turns out to be a palaeo nut. Slash, former lead guitarist of Guns and Roses is on a solo tour and stopped in at the Royal Tyrrell Museum with a couple of his band mates, Myles Kennedy and Brent Fitz, for a peek. They spent about four and a half hours on Wednesday touring the gallery as well as behind the scenes with palaeontologist François Therrien. Leanna Mohan of the museum extended an invitation to Slash via Twitter, and he jumped on the idea. He has already expressed his thanks through the social media site, and with more than 1.7 million followers, his fans are sure to also take notice of the Royal Tyrrell Museum. It appears Slash and Therrien got along well, and (inset) the guitarist checks out some of the impressive fossils.
