“I didn’t like the call, but I knew it was coming,” said Mayor Bryce Nimmo Monday afternoon after talking to Canadian National (CN) about the fate of the rail line through Drumheller. “At the same time, there is not much you can do about it.”
It took about four generous snips, and two local girls changed their look, and possibly the look of young cancer patients they have never seen or met.
Drumheller residents came out in force to recognize those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of all Canadians. Drumheller Remembrance Day ceremonies were held Tuesday, in the DCHS/ Central School gymnasium. The service was followed by a march back to the Royal Canadian Legion, Drumheller Branch. Veteran Pat Sparrow lays a wreath at the foot of the cenotaph as members of the First Drumheller Scouts, Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Furious, and Air Force Cadets stand guard.
