Beiseker RCMP need help finding missing male

Beiseker RCMP are seeking the public's assistance to locate a man last seen in Beiseker on July 3.

Daniel Zacharias, 25,  is described as Caucasian with brown hair, blue eyes, standing at 5'8" and about 175 pounds.

Daniel was last seen leaving his residence on foot on July 3 around 5 p.m. He was last seen wearing jeans, hiking boots, a Fulcrum-brand t-shirt, a light brown jacket, and a black sweater with a hood.

There is concern for Zacharias' well-being. The RCMP would like to locate him as soon as possible. Anyone with information in relation to his whereabouts are asked to contact the Beiseker RCMP at 403-947-3420 or your local detachment. The Drumheller tradition of a top notch parade soldiered on this year with great entries from the community and beyond.

This year there were about 80 entries and parade goers were not disappointed with the hard work and dedication by the committee that put on the parade, but also the floats entered  honouring the centennial of the Drumheller Fire Department. Judges had their work cut out for them as they selected winners in each of six categories.

Foley sentenced for firearm charges

A Big Valley man will be spending another 54 days in custody after pleading guilty to firearm charges.

Victor Foley appeared in provincial court in Drumheller via closed-circuit television from the Remand Centre.  He pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and being the occupant of a motor vehicle in which the person knows there is a firearm.

On September 18, 2018, Drumheller RCMP stopped a vehicle for a traffic stop.  A search of the vehicle revealed a 223 caliber rifle, a semi-automatic pistol a shotgun, ammunition, and drugs.

Foley has been in custody since November 23 of last year.  The crown and defense agreed on a sentence of 12 months. In giving him credit for 306 days in jail, this leaves 54 days to serve.
