A Big Valley man will be spending another 54 days in custody after pleading guilty to firearm charges.
Victor Foley appeared in provincial court in Drumheller via closed-circuit television from the Remand Centre. He pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and being the occupant of a motor vehicle in which the person knows there is a firearm.
On September 18, 2018, Drumheller RCMP stopped a vehicle for a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle revealed a 223 caliber rifle, a semi-automatic pistol a shotgun, ammunition, and drugs.
Foley has been in custody since November 23 of last year. The crown and defense agreed on a sentence of 12 months. In giving him credit for 306 days in jail, this leaves 54 days to serve.
