Curling club winds up season

On Sunday, April 3 the Drumheller Curling Club hosted their mixed bonspiel. The ‘A’ Final winners was team Stubbs, pictured from left is Chad Koski, Alanna Cornish, Colin Stroeder, and Kaitilin Stubbs. The Mixed ‘B’ rink was won by Team Martin,  headed by Mitchell Martin, Cheryl Richen, Marianne Hodge, and Connie Funk. The Mixed ‘C’ finalists were Team Collins, with Carol Collins, Mitchell Greene, Sue Collins, and Robert Collins.

Lynn Hemming named Citizen of the Year

 

The Rotary Club of Drumheller recognized the community spirt of the valley at the 2016 Celebration of Excellence.

Lynn Hemming, DVSS English teacher was named Citizen of the Year. Joanne Cunningham was also nominated. 
 Courteous
The Most Courteous Employee was Florence Johnson of Centre Street Insurance and Remax. Also nominated was Debbie Schinnour of the Drumheller Chamber of Commerce. 
 Athletes
The Female Athlete of the Year is Megan Boland. Duane Bolin was named Male Athlete of the Year. 
 Townaeards
Awards from The Town of Drumheller were also presented. Sam Brown was the recipient of the Badlands Scholarship. 
The Leaders of Tomorrow Award for Grade 7-9 went to Makenna Lutz and the award for Grades 10-12 went to Max Gruner. 

Hillview Estates Lot Draw upcoming

    Sixteen vacant lots in Hillview Estates will go up for draw in the town’s annual Lot Draw on Thursday, April 14.
    “The Lot Draw ensures fair access to lots in an equitable way,” explains Paul Salvatore, Director of Community Services with the town. “It allows

us to randomize the way these lots are allocated and ensures a fair, open, and transparent process.”
    The residential lots on 10 Ave. SE range in price from $46,979 – $75,200, and in size from 412m2 to 660m2. Lots not pre-sold at the draw will be made available to the general public at 8:00 a.m. the following day.

    The residential lot draw will be held on April 14 at 5:00 p.m. at Town Hall (224 Centre Street). Individuals must pre-register at least three days prior to the draw date. More information including lot details, requirements and procedures, land sales agreement and agriculture controls are available at the town’s website, www.dinosaurvalley.com.
