Thanks to a civilian report from a concerned resident, police were able take an impaired driver off the road in mid afternoon.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, Drumheller RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 56, north of Drumheller.

Police immediately responded and with the assistance of a motorist, located the suspect motor vehicle travelling southbound on Range Road 20-4. Police investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver of the motor vehicle for impaired driving.

The driver was transported to Drumheller Detachment where it was determined the driver had blood alcohol readings in excess of three times the legal limit. The driver, an adult female from Cam rose, Alberta, was lodged in cells

until sober and released on documents for first appearance in Drumheller Provincial Court in May 2016.

The adult male passenger of the suspect motor vehicle was also arrested on outstanding warrants and transported to Drumheller Detachment.

The RCMP encourage the general public to report suspected impaired drivers to the nearest RCMP Detachment.
