Laughlin charged with manslaughter

    Nacmine resident Calvin Wade Laughlin, 49, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter  after an autopsy determined that Neil Austin McMaster, 55, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

     McMaster was discovered unconscious on a boulevard in Nacmine early Monday morning with severe injuries. On Wednesday he was taken off life support and died at 8 p.m.
 Laughlin, made an appearance in provincial court in Drumheller on the original charges of aggravated assault on Wednesday, May 4. He was released on $1,000 bail.
    He has since been rearrested with the new charge. A bail hearing was held on Friday afternon, where Laughlin consented to be held in custody, and will appear in provincal court in Drumheller on Friday, May 13.
