Long released on bail into house arrest

Curtis Long, who has been accused of sexual assault, has been released on bail, but he will remain under house arrest.
Long appeared via closed circuit television in provincial court in Drumheller on Wednesday, November 3 for a show cause hearing to speak to his release.
He was charged with sexual assault in December of last year, and again last week when another allegation became known. He has been held since his latest arrest. He was represented by Calgary Lawyer Willie deWit.
Long was released on $10,000 surety.  He is to remain in his home or grounds 24 hours a day, seven days a week with exception for medical emergencies, court or professional appointments. He is to maintain a land phone line, and enforcement can employ electronic monitoring if available.
Long is scheduled to appear in court in Drumheller on Friday, November 26.
