Fraudulent charity requesting funds from businesses

    Drumheller RCMP are warning businesses to be wary of a fraudulent charity organization requesting donations

    On Thursday, August 26, a Drumheller business was contacted by phone requesting funding on behalf of the police.
    They organization claimed to be local, related to the Drumheller detachment.
    The Drumheller RCMP does not have any connection with the so-called group or organization.
    “I would be suspicious of any request for money,” said Drumheller Staff Sargeant Arthur Hopkins.
    Drumheller RCMP are requesting that businesses who are contacted in the future to attempt to determine where they are calling from and a return phone number.
    If businesses make contact with the phoney caller, pleace contact the Drumheller RCMP detachment with any further information received.
