Local hockey player Sean Davies has been short-listed for the Team Alberta Male U16s in preparation of the Canada Winter Games.
“Our goal is to ice the most competitive team possible at the Canada Winter Games,” said Team Alberta Male Coordinator, Justin Fesyk. “We have a very talented group of players and we are excited to watch them progress with their club teams as the season starts up."
In May of this year, The Mail reported Sean went in the seventh round of the WHL Bantam Draft to the Chilliwack Bruins. He was 143 pick over all.
Last season he played for the Airdire Xtreme and was selected to the Alberta Major Junior Bantam Hockey League All Star team.
At the previous four Canada Winter Games, Team Alberta has won Gold two times (1999, 2003), Silver once (1995) and one Bronze (2007). The Canada Winter Games occurs every four years.
