Rockyford Rodeo delights

rockyrodeocmyk.jpgFor the 52nd year in a row the Rockyford Rodeo delighted many and disappointed few Barrel racers, saddle broncs, calf roping, and many other events thrilled spectators young and old alike.
For kids, there was plenty of activity, including the catch and keep, wherein the children had to catch a chicken, and upon capture, had the opportunity to keep said chicken. There was also the midway, full of games, rides, food and overall a lot of fun for everyone.
The rodeo was fun for all, with the steer riding, calf roping, saddle broncs, bull riding, wild horse races, bareback riding, and mutton busting.
The dance on Saturday night was a fun time. There was a dinner at 4:30 p.m., followed by chariots, relay races and chuckwagons at 7:00. T.C. and Company provided live entertainment and there were also beer gardens to enjoy.
Sunday rounded out the weekend of activity, with a chuckwagon breakfast, cowboy church service, grand entry, the remaining rodeo events, BBQ beef dinner and some outdoor beer gardens.
“Overall,” says  Darcy Koester, member of the rodeo committee, “it was a good time." Another great weekend, another successful rodeo, once again, Rockyford at its finest. There was good attendance, and good weather. Overall a great year.”
