Gas prices reaching annual summer highs

It looks as though gas prices in Drumheller have soared near the one dollar mark for the summer season, leaving travelling motorists this summer reaching for their wallets. Average prices in Drumheller as of Sunday is 94.9 cents/litre, a cent lower than a month ago, but a 36 cent drop from the sky-high prices seen a year ago in the valley, down from 131.23 cents/litre for regular gasoline.
The cheapest gas in Drumheller, as of Sunday, is at the Gas Plus at 300-400 South Railway Ave., at 93.9 cents, and all other stations in the area posting 94.9 cents/litre, according to online gas tracking website, www.gasbuddy.com.
Throughout the province, the lowest cost for gas is 88.9 cents/litre in Spruce Grove, Vegreville, and Red Deer.
The highest prices are found in Taber, at 104.9 cents/litre.
