Alberta Government grant contributes to hospital purchase
The donation nearly made up half of all the funds needed to purchase the portable ultrasound. The unit, which costs $55,000 will be able to provide quick diagnostic assistance in the emergency room and the operating room, as well as being mobile enough to be moved throughout the hospital where it can be utilized.
The Alberta Government Culture And Community Spirit Program grant is available to eligible nonprofit organizations and Canada Revenue Agency registered charities, and is funded through the Alberta Lottery Fund.
The Heart to Heart Society has supported the Drumheller Area health Foundation since its inception in 1999, and has donated more than $200,000 for healthcare, equipment and associated programs at the Drumheller Health Centre.
Most recently the sSociety raised more than $39,000 for the cardiac monitoring System and purchased a treadmill for the cardiac rehab program
On this day The Heart to Heart Society also donated about $1,500 for accessory kits for the cardiac heart monitoring system
According to Linda Ames, The Drumheller Area Health Foundation are also looking for support for another operating table, and maybe their next campaign. They are also looking to complete a bariatric room in the Palliative Care Unit. Ames explains a bariatrics room would be designed for obese patents that can pose a physical challenge for treatment.
