The Dragons have now won three in a row and are closing on the top spot in the new look AJHL.
The Dragons were on the road to take on the Calgary Canucks on Tuesday, February 6. They wasted no time and Devon Winder scored just 36 seconds in. Josh Diegel added one more to end the first period up 2-0. Calgary added one in the second and tied it up early in the third. Diegel scored his second of the game with 1:45 remaining on the powerplay. Keegan Beagle added an empty netter for a 4-2 win.
Saturday night, February 10 was reverse retro jersey night as the Dragons hosted the Olds Grizzlys. It was a slow start as it took 13 minutes for Diegel to score and put the Dragons up 1-0 after one period. After that, it was a landslide.
Holden Cardinal scored 42 seconds into the second. Olds answered back at the midway point, but Dylan Ronald put the Dragons up 3-1 and Jordan Luk found the net on the powerplay to go up 4-1 after two. In the third, Coy Pighin opened the scoring unassisted, and then Ayden Peters added one more. Jamie Hikida scored on the powerplay with 28 seconds left as the Dragons went on to a 7-1 win.
On Tuesday, February 13, the Dragons hosted the Camrose Kodiaks, results were not available at press time. On Friday, February 17 they are in Calgary to take on the Canuks and then on Saturday are back home to host the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
