On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at approximately 8:57 p.m., Three Hills RCMP responded to a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian on 6 Avenue N in Three Hills.
The collision took place near the Prairie College campus. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian was struck while in the crosswalk and the suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the course of the investigation, Three Hills RCMP received a tip from the public which resulted in officers locating the suspect vehicle, which was initially believed to be a 2012-2022 black Dodge Ram. RCMP attended the location where they identified and arrested the suspect driver.
A 40-year-old female resident of Three Hills has been charged with failing to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm.
The female was released from custody and schedule to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on April 19, 2024.
