Rockyford defers security cameras until 2024 budget

Security cameras for the Lions Campground washroom in the Village of Rockyford will wait until the 2024 budget for consideration following the regular Wednesday, October 11 council meeting.
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Lori Miller previously sought quotes for equipment to be installed on the washroom’s exterior to deter misconduct and vandalism in September following a rash of vandalism over the summer months, which were shared with council at the October 11 meeting.
“The motion council made about the cameras was to defer until 2024,” Ms. Miller shares.
She explains the Village’s budget “is getting tight” and it was felt it would be better to plan for the expense as part of the 2024 budget discussions and deliberations.
A preliminary budget is expected to be brought forward at an upcoming council meeting.
