Dozens of Alberta Cricket players descended on Newcastle Recreation Area on Sunday, August 27 for the second annual Drumheller Challenge Cup. This year there were four teams playing in the day-long tournament. This includes the Drumheller Valley Challengers, the YYC Raptors, the Calgary Yorkers Women’s team. The top two teams from pool play advanced to the final and the YYC Raptors defeated the Calgary Yorkers by 10 wickets. The Drumheller Cricket Association continues to grow, doubling the size of its annual event. They have also been training about seven youngsters, learning the sport.
