Courthouse

An inmate who was serving at the Drumheller Institution had six months added to his sentence after entering a guilt plea.
Aaron Moore appeared in the Provincial Court of Justice in Drumheller on Friday, July 28 via conference call from the Edmonton Maximum Security Institution.
The court heard on February 13, 2023, another inmate entered Moore’s cell. A few moments later the inmate exited with lacerations on his neck. Moore exited a few moments later with a handmade weapon.
The plea came as a joint submission as the victim was uncooperative with the investigation.
Moore was serving a sentence of five years for aggravated assault.
He had three months tacked on to his sentence in January of 2022 for assault with a weapon from an incident in August of the previous year, where there was a large altercation at the Institution.
He was sentenced to six months consecutive to any current sentence he is serving.
