At approximately 9:10 am on April 13th, Drumheller RCMP responded to a complaint of suspicious persons in a backyard of a residence in Drumheller. On arrival members located two males near the residence.
One suspect, a 34-year-old male from Drumheller, was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and was arrested and taken into custody.
The investigation found that the second suspect was in breach of an undertaking conditions and he was subsequently arrested. Further investigation found that the suspect was in possession of contraband cigarettes and quantities of suspected fentanyl, morphine, and methamphetamine.
55 year old Kelly Miskolczi of Delia Alberta was charged with fail to comply with an undertaking contrary to Sec 145(4)(a) CC – 6 counts; unlawfully possess a controlled substance (fentanyl) contrary to Sec 4(1) CDSA; unlawfully possess a controlled substance (methamphetamine) contrary to Sec 4(1) CDSA; unlawfully possess a Ccontrolled substance (morphine) contrary to Sec 4(1) CDSA; and unlawfully possess contraband cigarettes contrary to Sec 4(1) of the TTA.
Miskolczi was subject to a judicial interim release hearing. The matters were held over for Court on April 14th, 2023 where Miskolczi was released on a $1,500 no deposit promise to pay release order with multiple conditions. His next court appearance is on May 12th, 2023 to answer to the charges.
The first suspect was released from custody after payment of fines.
