Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medals presented

On Tuesday, December 20, MLA for Drumheller Stettler and Minster of Agriculture and Irrigation Nate Horner presented the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medals to individuals from the constituency and leaders in Alberta’s Agriculture sector. They include (back; l-r) Tyler Kraft - for leadership in rodeo and livestock management, Wayne Nixon - Former Reeve Stettler County, Kim McConnell - leadership in Alberta’s agriculture sector and for being a catalyst behind major initiatives that helped build public trust in food and farming, Doug Sawyer - significant contributions to Alberta and Canada’s cattle industries, George Glazier - Former Reeve County of Paintearth, Gwen Hampton - Former School Trustee/Community Involvement, Nate Horner – Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, MLA for Drumheller-Stettler, Dr. Renata Weller - leadership in addressing Alberta’s shortage of trained veterinarians., Gord Lawlor - Founder and Owner/Operator Lawlor’s Jewelry/Victim’s Services Volunteer/Alberta Works Volunteer/HYC, Brent Heidecker - Community Involvement/Feedlot Owner, Al Campbell - Former Stettler Councillor, Cam Christianson - Owner Canalta, Bobbi Usselman - Community Builder/Former CAO Czar/CAO Hardisty, Tracy Gardner - leadership and advocacy to promote youth in agriculture and Cherie Copithorne-Barnes - leadership and dedication to improving Canada’s beef industry, with (front: l-r) Linda Hunt - advancing mental health efforts across Alberta’s agriculture sector, Dr. Rithesh Ram - Owner Founder Riverside Medical, Michele Toews - Community Involvement, Cecilie Fleming - leadership and advocacy in Alberta’s beef industry, Janice Tranberg - vocal and effective advocacy for the livestock industry in Alberta and Canada, Jean MacDonald - Community Builder, Margo Jarvis Redelback - exemplary leadership in Alberta’s irrigation sector, Jill Harvie - improving connections among agriculture communities and dedicated work on bettering rural Alberta, and Melissa Downing - Agrologist/RDAR board member. Missing are Dianne Westerlund - Director of CARA in Oyen, Stanley Solberg - Drumheller Community Builder, Ray Price - bringing substantial international trade and business to the agriculture sector in Alberta, Brad Osadczuk- leadership in both the cattle industry and our community, Kathy Hankins - Rotary Member/Community Involvement, Rob Grandfield - Community Involvement, Elson McDougald - Businessman/Rancher and Ian Goodbrand - Vet, Businessman, Rancher, Feedlot, Auction Mart.
