Temporary closure of Drumheller Emergency Department

Copy of IMG 9170

The Emergency Department (ED) at the Drumheller Health Centre is temporarily closed due to physician unavailability.

The ED at the Drumheller Health Centre will be closed from 8 a.m. on Dec. 24, to 8 a.m. on Dec. 25.

Regular operations at the ED will resume on Dec. 25 at 8 a.m.

This closure is necessary as the service cannot operate without a physician onsite.

Patients arriving for care at the ED at the Drumheller Health Centre during this time will be redirected to other available care options as appropriate to their needs. These options include returning when the service resumes, booking an appointment with a family doctor, or calling Health Link at 811 for medical information and advice.

Patients can also access medical care for urgent health concerns from facilities in nearby communities.

Other services at the Drumheller Health Centre are not impacted by the temporary closure of the ED.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
