On Friday, September 23, members of the Drumheller Fire Department, their families and well-wishers celebrated the Career of Fire Chief Bruce Wade, who retired earlier this year. Wade has been a part of the department since 1979 and during this time, responded to 4,929 calls. He has served in all capacities on the department, including Chief, since 2014. He was presented a fireman’s axe from Mayor Heather Colberg and councillor Tom Zariski on behalf of the municipality in appreciation of his years of dedicated service. As one of his last acts with the department, he answered his last call from Red Deer Dispatch during the evening. Derian Rosario has succeeded Wade as Chief.
