Kids of all ages took part in a community water fight, hosted by Carbon Fire and Rescue, to beat the 30-plus degree heat on Tuesday, August 30. The department has previously held end of summer water fights for its members and their families, though this is the first year the water fight has been opened to the public, and Carbon Fire Chief Jody Kranzler shares the water fight will continue to be an annual event open to village residents. About 30 people turned up with water guns and super soakers, and the department filled a port-a-tank for participants to reload. Some participants even took the opportunity to climb in the port-a-tank to cool off.
