Drumheller residents and taxpayers have the opportunity to provide feedback on the core municipal services offered by the Town, their satisfaction with these services, and their top three service priorities for the 2023 Operating budget.
Feedback is being collected by award-winning digital democracy platform Ethelo and will help guide council and administration as they prepare for the 2023 budget deliberations.
“As we look ahead to 2023 and beyond, the primary focus will remain on safely delivering the following core municipal services: water and sewer, roads and sidewalks, fire and police,” Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Darryl Drohomerski stated in a press release from the Town.
Respondents are asked to weigh in on the various municipal services offered by the town, their satisfaction level with the services, and whether they feel the level of funding is adequate or should be amended. At the end of each question respondents are able to provide additional feedback through written comments.
Residents are also asked to identify their top three service spending priorities and provide feedback on their overall satisfaction with the Mayor and Council, their responsiveness and transparency.
The survey will be open until Monday, September 5 and results from the survey will be presented to council at the Monday, September 19 regular council meeting.
It is anticipated the proposed 2023 budgets will be brought before council for discussion and deliberation in October or November, with adoption of the finalized budgets expected between December 2022 and January 2023.
