A new tradition in the valley continued on Saturday, July 16, as 102 motorcyclists took to the open road in remembrance of three young people in the community who were taken before their time.
Last year a dedicated group put together their Two-Wheels or Three Angels Poker run in dedication to Trevor Pascoe, Kim Davidson, and Rachel Sorenson, who passed away tragically in February of 2021. This year the Three Angels Poker Run returned as the Windburn Ride for the Drumheller Fire Department.
A group of over 100 bikers plus supporters gathered at The Last Chance Saloon in Wayne with the Drumheller Fire Department on Saturday morning for breakfast before they headed out for a 330-kilometre poker run.
The riders returned to The Last Chance Saloon for an evening of fun, music, food, camping and a silent auction. Items for the auction were donated by local individuals and businesses in support of the event. They also sold merchandise, hosted a beer garden and had a 50/50. In all, the events raised in the area of $10,000 for the Drumheller Fire Department.

“It is to keep the memory of Trevor, Kim and Rachel alive. That’s the motivation. We want to do good in their name every year,” said one of the organizers Brady Vescarelli.
Last year the event raised about $8,000, not including a substantial family donation. They are heartened by the support from the community and note the families of the three Angels were all involved to make the event a success.
The group has been planning since February to get the ride organized.
“We’re probably going to take a month or two to relax and then start thinking about next year,” said Vescarelli. “It’s nice to see the community give back to the fire department.”
