A faulty household appliance generated smoke throughout a six-plex apartment building on 1st Street West early Wednesday morning in the downtown area.
Drumheller’s emergency services responded to the alarm about 4:30 a.m., and, according to Drumheller Fire Chief Bruce Wade, there were no injuries reported, and the building residents evacuated safely.
Residents were awakened by the building’s alarm system, the incident originated in a basement suite.
