Mulch made from the trees cut down for flood mitigation work in the Midland, Newcastle, and Centennial Park areas is now available for Drumheller residents. The mulch is available, first-come, first-served at the former public work’s yard located at 124 8 Ave SE; residents must self-load the mulch and all loads must be covered and secured to prevent debris from being spread throughout the community. Firewood was also available, though by Friday, April 8 this was mostly all collected according to flood mitigation project director Deighen Blakely. Along with mulch and firewood, some trees were salvaged for use in some community art projects.
