Three Hills RCMP have arrested a Calgary man who was unlawfully at large on several outstanding warrants at a residence in Three Hills on Tuesday, March 22.
Three Hills RCMP received information that 23-year-old Tyree Ewing, who was unlawfully at large on 11 outstanding warrants, was hiding at a local residence.
When officers arrived at the home, they were advised Ewing was not inside the residence, and a woman stated she did not know his current location.
About an hour later, with a warrant to enter a dwelling house, and with the assistance of the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) and Stettler RCMP Traffic Services, officers entered the residence.
Ewing was taken into custody without incident after being found hiding in the basement under a mattress. He has been charged with Assault and Escape Lawful Custody.
After a judicial hearing, Ewing was remanded into custody and Counsel Jesyca Froese made a brief appearance on Ewing’s behalf in provincial court in Drumheller on Friday, March 25 and the case was adjourned to Friday, April 8.
