Three Hills RCMP arrest two for stolen copper wire

Three Hills RCMP attended a rural property near Trochu to serve court documents on Friday, May 21.
While on the property, police located a female who was wanted inside the residence. During the warrant apprehension, police located a large amount of stolen copper wire in a bedroom. Police entered into a stolen property investigation, and a search warrant was completed and granted.
Three Hills RCMP, with the assistance of the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), executed the search warrant and located a large quantity of stolen copper wire in the residence and in an outbuilding on the property.
A male was also located hiding in a travel trailer and arrested without incident.
The total weight of the seizure was 2,100 lbs with an approximated value of $9,600.
George Jones, 43, and Trina Langevin, 42, both from Red Deer have been charged with trafficking property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Jones and Langevin are scheduled to appear at provincial court in Drumheller on Friday, June 18.
