Drumheller RCMP are asking the public for assistance to identify a person of interest in relation to an armed robbery investigation from earlier this year.
On Thursday, February 13, the Morrin Hotel Bar was robbed by two masked and armed suspects. The suspects fled in a stolen vehicle which was later abandoned and set on fire.
Five days later on Tuesday, February 18 a hotel in Halkirk was robbed by a disguised suspect carrying what was believed to be a shotgun. He fled in a stolen van which was later recovered in Big Valley. A stolen shotgun was recovered from the van.
These two incidents were linked by RCMP and two suspects were identified. A coordinated investigation was conducted by the Drumheller, Hanna, Three Hills, Beiseker, Bashaw, Coronation, and Stettler RCMP detachments, with assistance from Red Deer Police Dog Service (PDS).
On Wednesday, February 19, the two suspects were arrested in Three Hills. 35-year-old Chase Aaron Anderson faced 15 charges related to the possession of stolen property in Stettler, and the robbery in Drumheller, and 39-year-old Robert Kristopher Paul Foster of Big Valley faced 19 charges related to the possession of stolen property in Stettler, the robbery in Drumheller and the robbery in Halkirk.
Now, Drumheller RCMP are seeking information on the identity of a male in regards to the ongoing armed robbery investigation and are seeking the public's assistance to identify him.
