Legion awards 2019 contest winners

Local winners of the 2019 Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Remembrance Day poster contest were presented with their awards by Branch #22 poppy chair Debbie LaPlante on Thursday, November 5.

Presentation was delayed due to the closure of schools in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No contest will be held this year.
Primary category, colour division: first place, Marci Andrew-Reid (St. Anthony’s); second place, Chloe Whitney (Greentree); third place Anaston Skytt (Greentree)
Primary category, black and white division: first place, Keaton Berki (Greentree). Keaton also received an award from the Legion Provincial level.
Junior category, colour division: first place, Olivia Hern (Greentree); second place, Kaia Wilson (St. Anthony’s); third place, Carly Nundahl (St. Anthony’s).
Junior category, black and white division: first place, Kelsey Scott (Greentree) who also received a provincial level award; second place, Joshua Unland; third place, Luke Messom.
Intermediate category, colour division: first place, Blair Hatch (DVSS); second place, Charlene Maglalang (DVSS); third place, Halleise Baker (DVSS).
