There is new leadership at the East Coulee School Museum.
April Rasmussen has been selected as the new executive director of the historic museum in East Coulee.
Rasmussen has extensive experience in museums in Drumheller and has a deep love for museums and heritage. In fact, her first job was as a summer student at the East Coulee School Museum.
“In a way, it has come full circle,” said Rasmussen.
She takes over as Barb Steeves retires as executive director of the East Coulee School Museum. Steeves has spent seven years with the East Coulee School Museum and has spearheaded many events and initiatives, including the annual Highland Gala.
The museum is back open seven days a week welcoming visitors following its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rasmussen says they miss all the people who come out for the annual spring fest and encourage locals to come and reacquaint themselves with the historic resource.
