Town tackles Street Improvement Project

SIP2020 Cedar Crescent

Dave Brett, Director of Infrastructure Services, brought the Street Improvement Project (SIP) proposal before the Drumheller Town Council during the July 6 meeting. The motion was approved and Rubydale Asphalt was awarded the bid to complete the project.

“The project has a total value of $1,044,674.86," said Brett. "$799,278 will be funded from the 2020 Town of Drumheller SIP budget, and the remainder will be funded by the Alberta Government, if approved."

Darryl Drohomerski, CAO for the Town of Drumheller, added that construction for the project would begin “...as soon as possible, and it is intended that the majority of the work will be completed by September 15 with completion by October 1, of all tasks.”

The major components of the project would include repairing areas of the downtown district and resurfacing the parking lot by Shoppers Drug Mart, and repaving Cedar Crescent.
