Greentree School receives defibrillator donation

Greentree School now has a piece of lifesaving equipment for use in cardiac emergencies, thanks to a local physician.
Dr. Rithesh Ram and his family have donated an automated external defibrillator  (AED). Dr. Ram tells the Mail it is an established fact that AEDs save lives.
“The evidence is so strong that many jurisdictions have passed laws making it mandatory to have them in all public schools. Unfortunately, in Alberta that is not yet the case,” he said.
“As parents as well as physicians, we want to ensure that in the rare event where a child is in sudden cardiac arrest, that they are afforded the best possible chance of living, and that’s why Greentree Elementary School required an AED.”
With the new AED are Lalina and Suvera Ram.
