On Saturday, October 26th,105 people got all dressed up and put on their masquerade masks to have a fun evening and raise money for youth programming in Drumheller.

The evening included entertainment from Indigo Circus, the Darrin Lane Band and DJ Grant Daly. A silent auction of 38 items from 31 businesses helped raise $8,309.75 and a West Jet raffle raised $4,660.

“The need to support our youth was highlighted in the Needs Assessment, with 75% of the responses stating that they wished to have a space for youth programming. People can find out more about our plans for youth programming, when I present to council on November 25th,” said Alicia Smith Youth Coordinator.

“It was an amazing evening, huge congratulations to everyone involved. The funds raised at this ball, and through other fundraising efforts, are vital in supporting the Town of Drumheller in creating vibrant youth programs. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project,” added Councillor, Kristyne DeMott, who attended the event.

The Social Needs assessment was carried out in late 2017 by Drumheller Family and Community Support Services. So far the total raised for the youth centre is $30,500.
