Drumheller Institution visits suspended, possible norovirus outbreak

penn

The Drumheller Institution was put on lockdown last week and visits were suspended after some inmates showed symptoms associated with norovirus.

Corrections Canada issued a release on Tuesday saying the lockdown is a preliminary measure and they are working with health authorities.

Noroviruses are a group of viruses that cause gastroenteritis, an illness that usually includes diarrhea and/or vomiting.
