Michichi Boardwalk opens today

IMG 2190

A kilometre-long stretch along the Michichi Resevoir opened June 20 to a crowd of dozens enjoying burgers, corn on the cob, and a walk along the new boardwalk. The project, complete with interpretive signs about the wildlife and ecosystem of the area, was funded in part by grants from the provincial government to educate about the watershed. Pictured from left is Alberta Environment and Parks program coordinator Monique Dietrich, Cows and Fish’s habitant management society’s Kelsey Spicer-Rowe, Red Deer River Watershed Alliance’s Rosemarie Ferjuc and Josee Methot, Starland County assistant ag fieldman Dara Kudras, and county reeve Steve Wannstrom.
